Gambling - Casinos

Downtown Casinos
Being from Hawaii, when you mention Downtown Vegas to someone, one of the first casinos that come to mind is California. Click here for a list of Downtown casinos.

I enjoy gambling Downtown over the other areas for many reasons:

PROS
CONS

Lower table limits
Casinos get full faster

  Ambiance Casinos are much smaller
Walking distance to a dozen casinos Poor ventilation (smokey)
  Friendly workers Feels like Hawaii

The Strip
There are so many casino on the Strip (new ones, existing ones, existing ones being purchased, merged, etc.) that it’s hard to keep track. Click here for a list of Strip casinos.

One nice thing about Strip casinos is that they offer at least one good free attraction. Many of them also offer attractions that charge an entrance fee, and it’s normally worth the price, especially if you have children with you.

Another advantage about Strip casinos are they are very big. That means they won't get very crowded (even if it is crowded), and they offer a lot of choices for table and machine games.

Being that many of the Strip casinos are very big, getting around by car is your best bet. If you’re not planning to rent a car, other means would be to walk (wear very comfortable walking shoes), catch the bus, taxi, or monorail. Click here to get thelatest information on the monorail.

Strip casinos offer a huge variety of table and machine games that will suit almost anyone. For table games, limits are normally higher than Downtown so be prepared to shell out a little more to play. Machine games are denominations from $.01 and up.

Local's Casinos
Catering to Nevada residents, local's casinos are somewhat similar to Downtown casinos in feel, but you will see more locals than tourists at these places. They normally offer good table and machine games and comp system.

These casinos are normally off the beaten path and will require a car. But most of them are worth the drive especially if you like the more homey atmosphere. Here’s a listing of some local’s casinos.
